What sort of pans do I need for an induction hob?
If a fridge magnet sticks to the bottom of the pan it will work on an induction hob.
However some pans work better than others please use the link below.
What size electrical point do I need for a dual fuel range cooker?
If you already have a 32amp cooker point with an accessible switch that is all you need.
If you are going to install a new cooker point, I would advise a 45amp point to be future proof when you replace the cooker.
I would also advise that the cooker point is fed from a separate RCBO.
What size cooker point do I need for an induction range cooker?
95% of range cookers will work on a 32amp supply, you need our advice for suitable models.
If you are putting in a new cooker point, I advise a 45amp point ideally fed by a dedicated RCBO.
Your installer will know what a RCBO is, we can explain what it is & why you need it.
How do you clean an induction hob?
Little & often is best. A quick wipe with a damp sponge or J-cloth after every use.
If your hob needs a bigger clean only use a cleaner recommended for ceramic top.
This would be completely smooth & will not mark the hob.
Washing up liquid should not be used as it will create a smeared rainbow effect, no damage just not pretty.
A final polish with a dry microfibre cloth like an E-Cloth.
Why does my grill smoke?
Don’t turn your grill off when you have finished cooking. Leave it on to allow any fat splashes to burn off with a red-hot element.
If unburnt fat is left on the element the next time you turn on the grill element the cooler element will cause smell & smoke.
What’s the best way of keeping my oven clean?
After a roast, some steam will help. Pour 200ml of cold water with a very small amount of washing up liquid or lemon juice into a clean roasting dish.
Place on the lowest shelf at 120degress for 20 minutes. After this time the oven will be coated in steam and when cooled down slightly, can be wiped out.
If you have a very neglected & baked on dirty oven you can use any proprietary oven cleaner. Keep off the elements, door seals and any catalytic liners.
To clean catalytic liners, once you have finished cooking a meal turn the oven up to maximum & they will clean themselves while you are eating.
